Islington Council Income Team

In the Income Team, we financially assess clients to see if they can contribute towards the services they receive. We carry out assessments for most care services, including: housework and shopping, personal care in the home, night settling, sessional workers sleepover, respite care at home, recreational activities, live-in workers and Care Homes.

The amount you will pay depends on your financial circumstances. For more information, please refer to the 'Charges for Care Homes' or ‘Community Care Charges’ document.

All the services we provide to help people live at home cost money. These costs are met through a combination of government grants, council tax and from the income raised from charging users for the services we provide. Islington Council wants to help as many people as it can to live at home independently and as safely as possible. We also want the charges for the care and support that we provide to be fair and affordable. So, as well as working out any charge you may have to pay, we will also offer all charge-payers a free benefits check to make sure that they are getting all of the benefits they are entitled to claim. If you need any assistance to complete the form then please call the Income Team on 0207 527 3417 or 2178.
