International Elderly Luncheon and Social Club
Club for severely disabled, older, frail or lonely Asian people in the Borough. Freshly cooked vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals are served on a Tuesday from 10.30am - 3.00pm.
Pick up service to and from the centre, take away food service for disabled people who cannot cook at home, trips organised annually, various cultural and religious festivals are celebrated
Asian Elderly Lunch and Social Club
Weekly on Saturdays: 9.30am - 3.00pm
Cost of Lunch: £2.85
Ages: 50+
We provide freshly cooked meals comprising of fried rice, chappati, meat curry, vegetable curry, dal, salad and sweets for elderly and disabled Asian men and women in the boroughs of Islington and Hackney. Special needs members with dietary restrictions are also catered for. Food is packed in foil containers and delivered for members who are unable to cook at home. After lunch, members take part in activities including playing cards, chess, dominoes and ludo. Regular health programmes are organised with help from: NHS, TLC and other agencies in the area. Health programmes include: Healthy Eating, Keep Fit, Eye Care, Foot Care and checks on blood pressure. Two countryside trips a year help us to reduce isolation and encourage healthy living amonst our members. Cultural festivals of Eid, Diwali, New Year and Chistmas are celebrated for the benefit of all our members who are from many different cultures and faiths.
