One of three special schools and units in Islington providing support for children with particular special educational needs (SEN) and disabilities. This is to meet the Government requirement to include such children in mainstream schools wherever possible. This recognises that children learn in different ways and have different needs requiring short or long term support. Mainstream, local schools are the agreed and preferred option for educating nearly all Islington children, but we also understand that for a small number of children this may not be appropriate, at least not for the whole of their school career. To meet the broad range of children's needs and parential preferences there is a range of specialist school provision in Islington, all playing a very important role in providing support and training to the mainstream schools. The Bridge School has two sites. The Primary Department is at 251 Hungerford Road, N7. The Secondary Department is at 28 Carleton Road, London N7 0EQ. The latest report about this school is available on Ofsted's website.
The Bridge School is not currently recognised as a 'Healthy School'.
