Sport and Physical Activity for Young People in Islington

Holiday Club

Finsbury Leisure Centre and Ironmonger Row Baths have a holiday club for young people in years 1 to 6 from Monday 23 October to Friday 27 October. More information is on the attached, Holiday Club.

Organisations for young people

  • Access to Sports offers archery, athletics, badminton, baseball, basketball, boxercise, fitness sessions, gym, football, multi-sports, netball, roller skating, tennis, and tag rugby. Not all these activities are offered at the same time. Check the website for details.
  • Arsenal in the Community offers football to young people at primary school (juniors) and senior school (seniors). See the leaflets to the right, Arsenal in the Community juniors timetable and Arsenal in the Community seniors timetable. Arsenal in the Community also offers these sessions:
    • football for girls aged 6-9 at Arsenal Hub, N7 7BA
    • football for girls aged 10-13 at Tufnell Park primary school, N7 0HJ, and St John's Highbury Vale primary school, N5 1DL
    • football for young people aged 6-9 at Arsenal Hub, N7 7BA

  • Children's centres offer play and other activities for young children
  • Lift Youth Hub, 45 White Lion St, N1 9PW offers archery, dance, a gym (including a women-only session), kickboxing, and table tennis for young people, and football at Whittington Park, N19 4EG for young men
  • Rose Bowl Youth Hub, St Paul's Park, Ramsey Walk, N1 2PT offers multi-sports and football to young people
  • Copenhagen Youth Project offers football at Handyside, 3 Canal Reach, N1C 4BA and Copenhagen school, Treaty St, N1 0WF
  • Mary's Youth Club, Upper St, N1 2TX offers gym and multi-sports
