Rushia Roshid

CHILDMINDER. I offer home from home care in a spacious and clean home with a beautiful garden.

I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum to assess and plan for children's individual needs and interests through fun and play based activities which are both adult let and child led, but most importantly I pay particular focus on children building a secure and trusting bond with me through warm and loving care and spontaneous attention. This gives them confidence to explore and learn through their environment.

A range of toys and activities to suit children’s interests are always on offer including sensory play, heuristic play, treasure baskets. The garden is well equipped including a mud kitchen, sand and water tray, mini slide, mini trampoline and maybe a playhouse in the future.

I regularly attend the Bright Start stay and play groups in South Islington such as Moreland Children's Centre on a Monday, New River Green Children's Centre on a Tuesday and Little Angel Studio on Fridays where staff and other childminders know me and the children in my care. Many of the children who attend these groups build friendships over time as they often see each other several times a week.

The children also enjoy outings to local soft-play, parks, nature walk, library and museums. There is also a new park right behind my house and we use it a lot.

I do not take before or after schoolers, so the little ones can have a relaxing playtime and plenty of one-to-one attention.

I am supported by the Islington Childminding Coordinators to ensure I maintain best practice and outcome for the children. I attend forums where we share ideas, good practices and keep up to date with current national and local changes.

I am based on Dame Street N1 7FR. My home is smoke and pet free. It is on a quiet road so has easy parking for quick drop off/collection.

Local Offer

How will you support my child?

My childminding setting welcomes children with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) and I am committed to working with parents and other professionals to provide good inclusive practice. My Islington Area SENCO provides me with support, advice and training regarding children with SEND. Parents are encouraged to speak to me about the needs of their child in order to assess and plan what is required.
