Company Three

Coronavirus Update:

Company Three is a young people’s theatre company. During the coronavirus outbreak they have launched a new project, The Coronavirus Time Capsule

This project aims to reduce the impact which isolation and anxiety has on teenagers’ mental health.  It  is designed to help give them the things they’ll need most in this difficult time – social connection, support and a space to express themselves.

Although less affected physically by the virus, teenagers, particularly those in more crowded accommodation and challenging family relationships, will be particularly hard-hit by school and societal shutdowns. Calls to Childline have increased dramatically and the NSPCC has spoken about ‘24/7 news cycle causing huge worry and anxiety in young people’.

This project is designed to counter this, encouraging our young people to stay connected and engage positively in digital activities.  Every week, the members of C3 will make their own films responding to life in shutdown. They will be supported with online workshops, video tasks and phone mentoring. Every Friday we’ll release the work they’ve made in a cumulative video time capsule.

The creative task also provides a communication line for our young people to adults outside of their family and we can provide pastoral support and signposting to specialist services through our conversations.

Company Three are also inviting groups of young people across the world to join in making their own time capsule. They are making the entire project available for free to youth theatres, educational institutions, student drama groups, and amateur companies and community-arts projects everywhere.
