Home Care Complex Needs Service
slington Council’s Home Care Complex Needs Service is for people who live in Islington and have assessed complex needs. The service helps vulnerable service users remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible, thereby reducing the need for admission into hospital and/or residential care.
Islington Council’s Home Care Complex Needs Service employs home carers directly, although on occasion it may use private or independent companies. These companies work within the council’s standards and guidelines. Home carers help service users to wash, dress and ensure that prescribed medication is taken at the correct time. They also provide assistance with personal care, prepare light meals and help service users with bill paying, shopping, housework and laundry.
The aim of Islington Council's Home Care Complex Needs Service is to enable adults who have dementia / confusion, mental health illnesses, disabilities, or social care needs to continue living independently and within their own home/community for as long as it is reasonable to do so.
