Saint Silas is a lively church faithful to the Catholic tradition of the Church of England.
The Community Hall at Saint Silas is a popular meeting space with a kitchen & toilets. Centrally heated, there is seating available for forty people - though the hall could accommodate eighty standing. Situated on Penton Street, the hall it is a short walk from Kings Cross and St Pancras main line stations and from Angel underground. We are not able to take bookings for private parties but the hall is available for group hire - long term or one-off - and for corporate functions.
Our refurbished Community Hall is a popular meeting place for a variety of organised or self-help groups.
RELAX, STAY AND PLAY ... This group, supported by St Silas, meets every Tuesday morning during term time from 10.00 a.m. - 12noon and is especially for pre-school babies & toddlers and their carers. The cost is £2.00 per child (maximum £3.50 per family). For health and safety reasons, the number of children must not exceed twenty-five. The entry fee includes tea, coffee and biscuits for adults and drinks and healthy snacks for children. Each gathering ends with song-time.
ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS ... Three groups meet each week in the Community Hall. Tuesday nights, 7.00pm - 8.00pm, Friday at 6.00pm (for women only) and Saturday morning 10.30 a.m. - 11.30 a.m. Meetings are open to anyone with a drink problem. Just turn up.
ANGEL ORCHESTRA ... Always looking for new members & meet each Wednesday evening in the Community Hall for rehearsals - building up to a concert at the end of each term. Catch more details on their own dedicated website. www. the-angel-orchestra.co.uk
ANNA SCHER THEATRE... We are delighted to host Anna Scher's Theatre Classes, which take place on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 4.30 p.m. and Friday evenings starting at 7.45 p.m. Fridays are for adults, Wednesdays for teenagers. Younger children on Mondays and Tuesdays.
OVEREATERS ANONYMOUS ... This is a self help group meeting weekly on Monday at 7.00 p.m.
PHILHARMONIA BRITANNIA has occasional rehearsals in the church, as does LINDEN BAROQUE.
