Families for Life provide free healthy lifestyle programmes and sessions to families in Islington. Families for Life is made up of two types of programmes:
Family Kitchen is a cooking course with healthy lifestyle messages that has been designed to help families with children aged 2 to 11 to make healthy lifestyle choices to 'feel good and live well'. Parent and children attend a weekly programme together.
Families for Life focus more on healthy lifestyle messages with minimal food preparation.
During the Covid-19 lockdown programmes are being run via zoom or telephone sessions.
- Families for Life telephone sessions - These are one-off sessions covering a range of topics such as eating well at home, breakfast ideas and hidden sugars, understanding labels and portion sizes and staying active at home. Fill out the booking form to arrange a telephone conversation about a topic relevant to you and we will get back to you to arrange a suitable date and time.
- Virtual Family Kitchen weekly programme are run via zoom with new programmes starting every half term. Each session you'll cook a simple meal together and includes useful information, such as how to deal with fussy eating and label reading. Each session is an hour and a half. We run programmes for families with children in early years or in primary. Follow the link to find out when the programmes are held:
