Families for Life provide free healthy lifestyle programmes and sessions to families in Islington. Family Kitchen is a cooking course with healthy messages run by Islington's universal healthy lifestyle service that has been designed to help families with children aged 2 to 11 to make healthy lifestyle choices to 'feel good and live well'. Parent and children attend a 6 session programme together.
During the Covid-19 lockdown programmes are being run via zoom or telephone session chats. The Zoom Family Kitchen are for 6 sessions on a Wednesday and the telephone sessions can be arranged on an individual basis. Please see the available course options mentioned below to choose from.
- Families for Life one-off telephone sessions. These are one-off sessions covering a range of topics such as eating well at home, breakfast ideas and hidden sugars, understanding labels and portion sizes and staying active at home. Fill out form to join any one of the four one-hour sessions and we will get back to you to arrange a suitable date and time.
- Virtual Family Kitchen 6 week programme on Wednesday's via Zoom. Starting on Wednesday November 4 2020 until Wednesday December 9 2020 the next course will be starting on Wednesday January 6 2021 until Wednesday February 10 2021 for a programme of virtual cook-along sessions and get support around fussy eating and helping you to get your family to eat healthy. Each session is an hour and a half.
