St Luke's Community Centre

Run by St. Luke's Parochial Trust, the centre offers a range of activities to promote the health and quality of life of local people including children and young people. Activities include swimming (at Ironmonger Row baths), dancing (ballroom, old time, modern sequence and line), art, keep fit, singing, table tennis, sewing and gardening. There is also snooker, bingo, cards, darts, TV and a book and video library. For young people there is an after-school learning club, a craft club, samba band, drama, street dancing and ballet and tap classes.

Our UK On-line Centre is open for the public (Monday to Friday from 9am to 8pm, depending on activities and Sunday 11am-3pm) simply to drop in and use free of charge and there is no need to register. It is easily accessible being located next to our reception and has 10 simple-to-use PCs with fast internet, full Microsoft software, printer and access to a photocopier.

Food Connections runs food collection by appointment for households experiencing hardship within our area of benefit. Collections accepted by partnership agencies supporting families.  All local residents within our area of benefit.  For those on reduced income due to Furlough or loss of income due to Covid -19, Awaiting Universal Credit, no Recourse to Public funds.  Referral from partnership agencies (may not meet above criteria but known to be in financial hardship).  Food Connections Food hub for collection1-4pm Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday Deliveries of food packages to local school and nursery for discreet distribution to families in need. Lunch Club 12-2pm Monday -Friday for collection Lunch deliveries Monday- Friday to vulnerable members

Improving digital skills (currently with employment focus only)

Online Employment training: Zoom workshops – Interview skills, CVs, Confidence and

Motivation Online support via telephone and email.  

Pair beneficiaries with volunteers to provide online tailored support sessions.  

Signposting to other services.  

Our PC Pals one-to-one support programme is currently paused due to Covid-19.  

Over 55s support vulnerable residents with a range of practical support eg delivering shopping, prescriptions and medical appointments etc.
