Friendship Works, formerly Friends United Network
Friendshipworks, formerly Friends United Network, provides long term adult volunteer befrienders for children from lone, single parent families in the boroughs of Camden, Islington and Southwark. The befrienders take their matched child out once a week for 3 to 4 hours for a minimum of two years, thus providing a long-term supportive one-to-one relationship for a child with an adult outside of their direct family. This is not an emergency response service and after referral it can take several months to find a volunteer for a child.
