Freightliners Farm
A small farm in an urban setting providing the opportunity for local individuals and groups to learn from and interact with the environment and each other through animal care, horticulture and sustainable practices. The farm provides a wide-ranging educational programme in a fully equipped classroom. Over 200 school groups participate each year in tours and workshops. The farms accredited educational courses include carpentry, cooking, animal care, horticulture, beekeeping, and health and safety on the farm. The farm also provides an alternative educational project called Don't Turn Back for young people who are at risk of disengaging from mainstream education. Volunteers aged 12 plus are welcome.
