Newpark Montessori Nursery School- Islington
As a small family-run company with three decades of Early Years experience, we agree that you should not have to compromise your child’s need for a homely, safe environment if you choose childcare in central London. Our Montessori nurseries have been carefully designed to offer just that. Our whole team loves what we do and takes pride in our beautiful environments where we blend the highest quality daycare with authentic Montessori education. Our newest nursery school is a sympathetically converted and restored Victorian building Arlington Wharf, which nestles in the peaceful surroundings of Arlington Square and offers children space to grow, develop and learn. The nursery is conveniently located close to Angel, Essex Road and Old Street stations and is served by several local buses that head into the City and central London. Arlington Wharf also runs alongside the Regent’s Canal towpath.
Our Infant Community classroom is a beautiful open plan room with large windows overlooking the canal and a wonderful aquarium at children’s level to soothe and amaze our babies. There is a large area for creative activities including drawing, craft, painting, sand and water play and other wonderfully messy activities.Other areas of the main room include a home corner for role play supporting language and social development, a book corner, a quiet area for babies to sleep, bottle feed and enjoy heuristic play, a Montessori practical life area, a problem solving area for children to explore science and early numeracy, a place for construction and a large ramp and stair for whole body physical development. The wonderful Montessori preschool learning space offers a rich, broad curriculum incorporating Practical Life, Sensorial, Maths, Language, Culture, Science, Geography, Botany and Art.Centre stage in the classroom is a incredible London Park immersive mural with a bandstand and aquarium, to enhance imaginative play and drama. Children also enjoy taking part in Yoga Sports and Cooking classes. Newpark is proud to be the first private nursery in the UK to become an accredited London Living Wage employer.
Newpark Montessori Nursery School Islington is recognised as an Islington Healthy Early Years setting and has received the Healthy Early Years London Bronze Award.

- How will you support my child?
Our setting welcomes children with SEND and we are committed to working with parents and other professionals to provide good inclusive practice. Our Islington link Area SENCO provides us with support, advice and training regarding children with SEND.
We provide a positive and welcoming environment where children are supported according to their individual needs. Each child is planned for individually to ensure their needs are met and they continue to develop and thrive.
Our staff are well informed and suitably trained to help support parents with special educational difficulties. Staff are trained regularly on tracking children's ongoing development in all areas of the EYFS and highlighting any signs of delay or SEN for each individual child.
In addition to working closely with our Islington link area SENCo who provides us with support, advice and training regarding children with SEND. We also work closely with external professionals for guidance and support for individual children.
