KMEWO provide support services to vulnerable women and girls from the Kurdish, Middle Eastern and North African communities in London and Islington.

Resettlement offer:

You can look at KMEWO’s timetable of online activities here (link). KMEWO can offer the following: 

  • General advice and information on issues of Welfare benefit and housing. 

  • Specialist advice and advocacy support for survivors of Domestic Abuse and Harmful Traditional Practices. 

  • Confidence building through group therapy, information workshops and outings, mentoring and peer support and volunteering opportunities. 

  • Therapeutic counselling services in several languages including Arabic and Kurdish.  

  • ESOL (1, 2 and 3), IT, Employability skills, child-care and Teaching assistance skills courses. 

  • Advice and support in employability and progression to further education. 

  • A Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) helpline and Advice line. 

  • Free tablet scheme 

  • The scheme is for women only. They can be given a free tablet if they meet three of the following criteria: 

  • Resident in Islington (Haringey and Hackney). 

  • Identify as BAMER. 

  • Have No Recourse to Public Funds. 

  • Seeking employment. 

  • In receipt of benefits / low income. 

  • Survivor of VAWG. 

  • To request a tablet, email onlineaccess@kmewo.com.
