Local Offer

How will you support my child?

Our setting welcomes children with SEND and we are committed to working with parents and other professionals to provide good inclusive practice. Our Islington link Area SENCO provides us with support, advice and training regarding children with SEND.

Our SENCO has completed a Level 2 Course in Understanding Autism and has attended several SENCO trainings and forums.
The nursery manager has also completed Level 2 Course in Understanding Autism and the course Understanding Children and young people’s mental health.

Some of our staff are Makaton trained.
Our staff reads our SENDCO policy when inducted and are made aware of who the nursery SENCO is and how to make a referral.

We are an inclusive setting. All children in our nursery have equal access to the curriculum and this is done through differentiation.

All learning is tailored to each child and activities are planned around individual children’s interests and short-term plans. We follow a child’s interest through “In The Moment Learning” approach.

Short Term Plans are reviewed every 6/8 weeks with parents to recognise achievements both at home and at nursery.
