Families for Life Community Champion Programme

The Families for Life community champions' programme is for inspiring volunteers who want to support families in Islington to feel good and live well.  Champions talk to parents and carers about the Family Kitchen Programme, leading healthy lifestyles and help them to access useful services available in Islington. Champions are Islington residents, who are committed to improving the health of their community and available to volunteer two to three hours a week.

The benefits of being a Families for Life community champion includes:

  • Improved communication skills
  • Opportunities to meet new people and gain confidence
  • Knowledge of important healthy lifestyle messages
  • Opportunities to support the delivery of Families for Life programme
  • Increased prospects for gaining employment

We provide FREE training and ongoing support to become a Families for Life community champion.  The training programme teaches volunteers about health and wellbeing. It equips them with skills and information to confidently work with families.

We ask for a commitment of 2-3 hours volunteering each week to fit around your routine.
