Weblink: National Self-Harm Network
The NSHN was formed over ten years ago with the prime objective of supporting people who self harm. We consist of a number of volunteer workers who have experienced self-harm to themselves or have seen it in family or friends. The aims and objectives of the NSHN are; to support and empower people who self-harm, provide information, contacts and workshops on matters relating to self-harm and to promote survivor written literature. NSHN also; challenge assumptions and demystify common misconceptions surrounding self-harm, plus promote and advocate for the interests, needs and aspiration of people who self-harm and to influence social and health care polices at the local and national level. Lastly NSHN wants to raise awareness among the general public, health services, hospitals and their staff of the needs of people who self-harm.
