Islington Law Centre

Islington Law Centre offers legal advice and representation on a wide range of issues including mortgage and rent arrears, bankruptcy, Debt Relief Orders, utility debts and credit debts, education, immigration and asylum, employment, welfare rights, small claims and consumer issues. We have several outreach services throughout the borough. 

  • Resettlement offer: Their immigration unit can offer advice on the following areas: 

  • Asylum and human rights law from initial applications to appeals before the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal, the higher courts and the European Court of Human Rights. 

  • Immigration law, including entry clearance applications, applications for leave to remain outside and within the immigration rules, related appeals before the Asylum & Immigration Tribunal and the higher courts 

  • Challenging detention 

  • Bail applications 

  • Judicial Review 

  • Rights of free movement in the EEA

Cost Details
We do not charge clients for our service, but our ability to take new work is subject to capacity. You will normally qualify for free advice under the LSC Legal Help scheme if your income and savings are with in the eligibility levels set by the LSC. As a rough guide, people who are claiming means tested benefits will usually qualify. The Law Centre can assist people who are working and are on low incomes.
