Local Offer
- How will you support my child?
At the Sam Morris Nursery we offer a very inclusive practice, welcoming children with SEND. Our SENCO has over 10 years experience of working with and supporting staff, children and their families with SEND as well as outside agencies, such as Speech and Language Therapists. We have a long standing staff team who has a sound understanding of children's development and have all experienced either working with outside agencies or observed their practices and supported children with SEND.
The Sam Morris Nursery prides itself on it's robust planning, observation and assessment cycle, planning for the individual child, alongside the EYFS and their families. Should the EYFS not meet children's needs, as sometimes it doesn't, the Sam Morris Nursery adapts the planning and breaks it down to meet their needs.
We work towards a SMART (Specific, Measureable, Attainable, Realistic, Timely) approach as every child has a right to achieve. We work extremely closely with Islington Early Years Inclusion Team who provide us with support, advice and training.
Our setting welcomes children with SEND and we are committed to working with parents and other professionals to provide good inclusive practice. Our Islington link Area SENCO provides us with support, advice and training re children with SEND.
