Islington Active Girls Offer

From 2024 to 2025 free activities are on offer for girls in years five to eleven at specific schools in Islington. Sports leadership and coaching training is also on offer.

  • Volleyball

Time and location:

  • For primary school girls, every Monday during term time at 4-5.30pm, Arts and Media School Islington (AMSI), Turle Road, N4 3LS. Each week, there is a different activity on offer. Multi-sports and roller skating are some of the activities on offer in addition to what girls choose. Book your place
  • For secondary school girls, every Wednesday during term time 4.30-6pm, London Metropolitan University, 166-220 Holloway Road, N7 8DB. Each week, there is a different activity on offer. Book your place

The activities are part of the Active Islington Girls programme, which is run by Islington Council, Access to Sports and GLL (also known as Better), and is funded by the London Marathon Foundation and Islington Council.

  • Basketball for girls aged 12-16, Fridays 5-7pm, London Metropolitan University, Science Centre, Hornsey Road, N7 7DD
  • Football for women aged 16+, Mondays and Thursdays 7-8pm, Sobell leisure centre, N7 7NY
  • Fitness for women aged 17+, Wednesdays 9.30-10.30am, Elizabeth House, N5 1ED
  • Roller skating and multi-sports for girls aged 8-12, Mondays 4-5.30pm, Arts & Media School Islington, N4 3LS
  • Volleyball, basketball and tennis for girls aged 8-12, Sundays 11am-1pm, London Metropolitan University, Science Centre, Hornsey Road, N7 7DD
