School Wellbeing Service
The School Wellbeing Service, SWS, supports children, young people and families experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties such as, worries, anxiety, stress and low mood at school.
The SWS works together with schools and colleges to build on the excellent mental health provisions already available in the borough and is part of a national programme. The SWS aims to improve capacity for early intervention for mild to moderate difficulties, as well as promoting a whole school approach to emotional wellbeing and resilience. The service is split in to two teams covering the North and South of the borough.
SWS offers:
- 1:1 intervention with young people and parents for mild to moderate symptoms of anxiety, depression, and behavioural difficulties.
- Group work with young people on emotional regulation (KS2) and anxiety (secondary)
- Workshops for young people, parents and school staff.
- Support to the wider school community to develop a school approach to mental health and resilience and to improve access to social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) service.
