Our setting welcomes children with SEND and we are committed to working with parents and other professionals to provide good inclusive practice. Our Islington link Area SENCO provides us with support, advice and training re children with SEND.
Our SENCO has attended relevant training and continues with her professional development in this area. Our SENCO has been involved with looking after children with ASC for the past four years working alongside support workers, Social Communication Team and other support teams.
With our qualified SENCO worker, knowledge is cascaded to all members of our staff team, so that we are all aware of how to support the children in their communication.
We have extensive knowledge and understanding of working with children with very high and complex needs in the past few years, supporting the children while they are with us and supporting transition to school.
We work closely with outside agencies to support speech and language delay, implementing plans given to us to support the children from the therapists, providing regular feedback to them and their families.
We have forged very strong links with a number of other professionals throughout the years, including: speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, Whittington Health professionals and physiotherapists.
