Islington Crisis House

Provided by Look Ahead Care, Support and Housing, the Islington Crisis House provide a support service for short-term crisis intervention, offering short-term residential stays of up to 14 days for customers who are experiencing a mental health crisis. This can include customers who may otherwise require inpatient care, who are stepping down from ward stays, or who temporarily need more support than is available in the community. The service is delivered in joint partnership with CANDI, the mental health trust for Islington and Camden, and all customers have an assessment with the local Crisis Team within 24-48 hours of acceptance at the service.

Following a stay at the service, customers also have the option of up to 6 weeks of Aftercare support in the community from the service, to ensure successful transition back into the community.

Referrals can be made via CMHT’s, Crisis Resolution Teams, Assertive Outreach Teams, Early Intervention Services, Islington Carers Association, Early hospital discharges and Day centres, and is also able to accept self-referrals.
