Rapid assessment of mental health crises and if indicated, home treatment as an alternative to acute hospital admission.
People can expect:
- Needs assessment - including determining access to basic material supports such as food, shelter, and finances
- Mental state examination
- Risk assessment
- Social systems input
- The team has a Psychiatrist, Social Worker, Nurses and Support Workers
- The length of time you can expect to be cared for by the team is variable and is dependent on the severity and needs of the service user, the aim is to care for individuals in the least restrictive environment - this can however also mean a referral for admission to either a Crisis House or hospital.
People are usually seen within 24 hours of referral.
