Looking for a job or apprenticeship? Want to know where to search?

Try looking at the suggestions below:

  • Islington Council is one of the biggest employers in Islington and offers a huge range of jobs including apprenticeships. Take a look at Jobs and careers with Islington and the information on the Youth Employment Support page.
  • Regularly check the Latest vacancies and other opportunities page on Izzy-Info for the latest vacancy bulletins and links to Islington Working and local apprenticeship and training providers and opportunities.
  • Register with vacancy websites like Indeed, Reed and Monster. They have details of current vacancies in one place and you can search for jobs in a certain employment industry that you are interested in.
  • Check company websites and social media. Make a list of the top 10 companies you want to work for. Save them to your favourites and check their websites and social media pages regularly.
  • Contact companies directly that you want to work for, even if they're not currently advertising any vacancies. You could send a letter or email with your CV attached, asking them to consider you for any vacancies in the future.
  • Ask around, make sure your your family and friends know that you are looking for work.
  • Look at noticeboards and email bulletins. If you're at college, school sixth form or sixth form college, look out for emails about upcoming job vacancies or advertisements on noticeboards.
  • Attend job fairs and careers events, they are a great way to meet employers and training providers with vacancies.
  • Look at Job search on GOV.UK. Many organisations such as local councils, NHS Trusts and companies advertise their vacancies on this website.
  • If you are looking for an apprenticeship, you can register for vacancies on the National Apprenticeship Service and on Notgoingtouni.
  • You can get advice about job hunting, CVs and interviews from the Progress Team.

Try to set aside some time each day for finding and applying for jobs and keep a list of all the jobs you apply for.
