Travelling safely

Travelling in safety only needs a little planning

Plan your journey by thinking about it a little before you set out. Check the times of the last bus, tube or train. Keep your valuables, like your purse, wallet or mobile out of site. Think about where you wait. If possible, travel with friends. If you are alone sit downstairs, near other people or close to staff like the conductor, guard or driver.

Getting used to travelling around is a good thing. Most of the time you won’t have a problem, preparing before you set off will give you the confidence to get out and about more.

If you are riding a bike or driving or travelling in a car you need to think about your journey too, so you, your passengers and any pedestrians keep safe.
