What’s happening?

Deadline for Youth Councillor applications extended

Due to the sad passing of the Queen, the deadline to apply to stand for election as a Youth Councillor has been extended to Friday 30 September at 9pm. Please apply if you are aged 13-17 to be a Youth Councillor

Deadline to register interest
The online registration form must be submitted by this date.

Tuesday 4 October at Lift Youth Hub, 4.30pm-6.30pm. 

Wednesday 5 October at Platform Youth Hub, 4.30pm-6.30pm.

Information sessions
If you are interested in standing as a candidate for election, you must attend one of these sessions.

Wednesday 12 October, 10am-6pm

Deadline for applying
To be considered as a candidate for election all applications need to be submitted by this date.

Saturday 15 October,  10.30am-3.30pm, at Islington Customer Centre, 222 Upper Street, N1 1XR

Campaign development and training session
All candidates need to attend this. 

Tuesday 1 – Thursday 10 November

Campaigning and voting period
During this time, the candidates will try to get young people to support them

Thursday 10 November 
(Voting closes at 7pm)

Election day
11-17 year olds in Islington will vote for their preferred candidate

Monday 14 November, Islington Assembly Hall

Election results event
The 14 young people with the most votes will become the next Islington Youth Council


Youth council induction and training sessions
These sessions will help the new youth councillors to develop the skills and knowledge that they will need to carry out their role effectively
