Employment rights including equality and permission to work in the UK

There are laws covering employment

They include equality and discrimination, and employment rights, such as the right to a contract, pay, working hours and holidays, as well as rights around unfair dismissal and trade unions.

There is information on all your rights at work on the GOV.UK website.

Equality

It is nearly always against the law to discriminate against anyone in education, in work or in training because of race, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion or belief.

For more information, go to the Equality and Human Rights Commission.

Permission to work in the UK

If you are not a British citizen or from the EU or an EEA country and have come to Britain to look for work, you may need a visa or work card. To check your status, go to GOV.UK.
