Pay rates and payslips

The National Minimum Wage rates are reviewed every April

The current National Minimum Wage is £4.81 if you are aged 16 or 17 and in a job, and £4.81 if you are an apprentice. The rates change on 1 April every year.

Most workers have to pay Income Tax and National Insurance. How much you pay depends on how much you earn. Your employer will take this out of your pay. These deductions will be shown on your payslip.
